Option to use compositor on bakes
This may fit into a more general effort to improve baking overall but I've found myself needing the compositor to finish off my bakes (especially if the color space of my scene is not Standard and I need something like filmic color transform on my bakes)
Right now I can technically reload my bakes into compositor and hit render to get access to things like denoising node or color transforms but it feels like the easiest thing to do would be to give a checkbox that asks to treat the bake(s) as a render and run it through compositor. That would save so much time/effort on my work where baking stuff has grown commonplace in our projects.

i've made myself a few tools that automate a lot of the experience, essentially i just select my object, choose what i want to bake, and the tool handles setting up (and clearing afterwards) the baking nodes for each material, as well as a compositor setup if i want to de-noise.
i'd also been using the compositor to bitpack metallic, roughness and occlusion, but ran into issues where the compositor couldn't properly retain data packed into the alpha channel. blender's internal image format does have a 'CHANNEL PACKED' option, but its not exposed to the compositor, only straight and premultiplied, so i ended up writing my own bit-packer utility using numpy.
long story short, i'm working around it, but an improved native solution would be way better!
* @stevemillerband * do you have a link to your script? Currently I am taking on low priority bugs that are low hanging fruit to learn more about Blender ‘s compositor code. As I don’t have much programming experience, seeing how you did it in python could be helpful. Exposing channel packing in the compositor sounds like it would be right upnatively my alley
* @EvanAndrewWilson * here's the bitpacking utility. the relevant line is 45, where i set the property image.alpha_mode to 'CHANNEL PACKED'. you can also see this setting in blender's image editor properties if you open an image and look in the 'alpha' dropdown. pasteall.org/UMqK .
What kind of bakes?
