Prevent snapping to hidden targets

This has annoyed me for ages and I'm not sure if it's a bug or some kind of oversight, but you should not be able to snap to vertices/edges/faces on the opposite side of your mesh. This seems like something "Limit Selection to Visible" should prevent. I can't see how this is desirable or intended behavior-- and on dense meshes it makes snapping to your intended target very difficult.

Perhaps my Backface Hiding add-on can be of help. I'll let you read the README.md for more info.

"Limit selection to visible" is only meant for selections, not any other operations. However this problem you're describing could be solved if backface culling could hide mesh components instead of just the shading, as proposed here .
