Geometry Nodes: Geometry to Object, Objects to Collection

Point Instance can spawn an object or collection of objects on it's surface:

Example

The recent addition of Mesh Primitive nodes has revealed a limitation.

It's not possible to use generated geometry created within a geometry nodes graph as an input:

Example

I propose two new nodes:

  • Geometry to Object : Takes geometry as an input and converts it to an Object.

  • Objects to Collection : A multi-input node that takes one or more objects and turns them into a collection to use any where a collection can be used as an input.

The is technically not possible. The solution here is instancing geometry directly, not transforming geometry into an object inside of geometry nodes, which would break the concept of the modifier.

Although, I do like the idea of having multiple geometry inputs, to pick randomly as if it were a collection.

I'm working on something right now where adding things to a collection, to then be picked from for instancing would be super useful.

totally, i dont care if its new input for geometry or an geo to obj converter but that should be an option to start with
