Internet Image
Would be good if we could reference an image (background image for instance) as a URL link, for disk memory space saving !

This is a request to solve a problem that doesn't exist. You can download the image to your computer, and use it. If you've so little disk space that it needs to be referenced online instead, you've more serious issues with your system.
I don't mean low space, but rather Single Source of Truth concern which hates copy-paste (if the original image comes from internet).
Moreover, I save my files into git. There, commits save images, which has not big interest, for me.
I suspect there are security concerns here. Also, what if the url disappears? I'd be disappointed to download a file to find the images refer to a defunct website. An expansion drive seems the better solution.
On the other hand, it could be useful for iterating: try one url, play around, try another. Once you find what you like, download the files you need.
