Operator identifiers for various sliders

It would be nice to be able to use hotkeys and external hardware like wheels and knobs to control different sliders, but currently most of the sliders in Blender lack identifiers to keymap. Screenshot 2022-12-17 100821.png For example, brush.scale_size exists (so it can be bound to some keys and then adjusted with keys/wheels/knobs), but brush.strength doesn't, same as brush.weight. Ability to keymap adjustments to hue, saturation and value in Texture painting mode would be amazing too.

Learning Python and Blender API to create my own operators through scripts? Nope. Using wm.context_scale? Yes, without success. Data path that can be grabbed through UI doesn't work with that, and I don't see any explanation about casually getting proper one without learning Python. Therefore I came to a conclusion that in current iteration it's something for programmers, not for artists.

Yes, it is definitely not user-friendly at all. I wish there were ways to make custom keying simpler, even for advanced users. I feel it's hard to get heard on that matter, as you can see on that topic.
But in the meantime, we have this system that works and a community to help you to figure it out.

When I need to find out a Context Attribute, if I can't find it easily from the list I usually just google "blender python how to access X". That's how i did there:
For the brush strength, you need to use the Context Attribute tool_settings.sculpt.brush.strength . I don't really understand how the value system works though. But it works:

Thanks, that really helps. Also, I've found that ChatGPT is able to provide required path with specific enough request, as long as it exists in older documentation about API.

that's good to know
