Offset / scale UV option with Array modifier
Sometimes i find myself sorting UV islands after I have applied an array modifier becase I need to have unique texture space for each itteration. I also need them properly grouped so that I easily could find them on the texture.
My proposal: Add an option on the array modifier to offset the UV coordinates and optionaly scale them based on Count. The scale option would also need an origin position.

I've already made offset UV option for Array and Mirror Modifiers: (it is commited to master and you can get this working from builder.blender.org )
But it is just settable value (cause in my workflow i always use "1").
How do you imagine auto setting this offset?
@Pawel Piotrowski: This is wonderful! I can definitely work with this as it is :-). Can the offset be made with the bounding box of the uv? I think that it should default to the U axis. We might need a padding option as well. If I were a bit picky it would be that it would create a more coherent feel if the same widget was used as the constant/relative offset. Thank you for this! Much appreciated! :-D
@Pawel Piotrowski: I was just looking for something like this to remove that repetitive pattern you get when using the array modifier. Though currently this only seems to work when don't scale the UVs to the same size of the texture. I'm using the array modifier with a simple wooden plank. Adding a random offset for each U and/or V would be great; maybe this could be another (new) feature?
@diederickh: I think it would be quite easy to add.
What would this look like in the UI? A mock-up would be really helpful here.
@Jason van Gumster: Agree! I too often underestimate the value of mockups for vision and explanation.
i can see how the offset would be useful. just having a checkbox on the array modifier for that would speed the process up quite a bit even if it's just a line of offsets.
not sure exactly what you're picturing with the scale.
like differing sizes for each part of the array or what?
@Josh Strawbridge: By adding a possibility to scale it should be possible to actually use the uv coordinates without having to commit the modifier and further edit them. They could be kept with the 0-1 area dynamically. No need to add different scales on different parts (or that would actually be neat if there was a scale on the array, but I haven't had any requirement for that yet). The scale could be a uniform scale to the resulting UV coordinates to keep them within 0-1.
