Link Dimensions When scaling

Recently I have run into a problem: I was not able to scale my object proportionally. The task was to recreate a bottle which is 27 cm tall. After modelling the bottle in a comfortable scale for me, I had to recalculate manually the division number (for ex. 1/0.345) and then appply it in the scale operation.

It would be much easier if I could just type in the desired dimension of the x axis, link all the dimensions together and let Blender scale it down automatically according to the size that i need.

For one object at least you can type a dimension then copy the resulting scale multiplier the the other 2 axes. But if your asset is made of multiple objects you can't simply enter a dimension. Imo cage transform feature can be improved to allow what is a trivial transform in other software.

Or use a parent if copy-pasting values is fine of a solution.

That's the main workable solution for now but is far from comfortable to have to create a compound bounding box first only to represent the actual dimensions and still be half way through with resizing.

And the parenting is also an ugly mess if your selections are already part in one or multiple hierarchies.

Maybe Cage Transform could resolve all this steps elegantly with some more work put into it.

Yes, absolutely. I can imagine this feture as a small chain icon on the side of the scale sliders like in Photoshop or other aplications. One could toggle this switch on and off and if it's on you only have to scale one axis and the other two follows it proporionally.

Yes, but scale AND dimension, as seen how it would be useful in the above scenario.
