A Line Tool in Blender
I think it will be a great idea if we could have a line tool (similar to the grease pencil),
To be honest I got the inspiration for these idea when i was working in other software packages, and if anyone has ideas on how to make it "Blender's own" you are welcome.
But with concentration to snapping and to draw plans in 2D. I work with plans as I am an interior designer, and I am not a fan of importing from other CAD softwares, not because they suck, but I like doing everything inside Blender.
The line tool may also be used for basic modelling, where we now add a plane, merge the vertices and then work, if this tool were introduced, more people will opt for this, (in my opinion).
For this we will need the updated snapping options as proposed here: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/3Dbbbc/cad-like-snapping-objects-by-basepoint
Then some options like offsetting the line, curving the edges, and most importantly, inputting measurements and the unit systems mentioned here: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/vMbbbc/a-correct-metric-system-right-now-its-nonsense

This is an excellent suggestion and a long time needed feature. In respect to this idea i made an addon called NP Station, a couple of years back. You might want to check it out:

@Okavango: This is a great addon. I hope you can get it ported to 2.8 quickly once the python changes are complete!
They Will tell that we have bezier, even if it's not appropriated at all for drawing architecture...
