Inputting absolute values for origin placement : "Affect only (origins/locations/parents)" functionality for transform tab.
The "Affect only" options do not work when editing values in the transform tab. I'm told this is working as intended. As such, extending this functionality to the transform tab is considered a new feature rather than a bug fix.
I'd like to suggest adding the option to use the "Affect only origins" options while directly editing the numerical transform/rotation/scale values of the origins, as this would be extremely useful in cases where precision is necessary.
.
These are just suggestions of what that might look like. If anyone has any better ideas, let me know.
Maybe an extra box tick in the "Affect Only" UI to make it also apply to the transform tab. Probably the simplest solution.
Or an option in the preferences to change the behavior of the "Affect only" options to also work in the transform tab.
Or perhaps a specific Origin Panel. Could be useful if there's any other origin properties we might want to display or edit.
.
PS : I understand that there are workarounds, however none of these are as fast or convenient as activating the "Affect only" options and inputting the exact values for your origin directly. And I may be wrong, but I get the impression most of the functionality is already there, and adding this would be mostly a UI decision/issue.
Thanks .

Of all the suggestions, the best is to have it just do the right thing: modify the transform values taking into account if an "affect only" is activated. No options: do it or don't!
* @ Lsscpp * That would have been my first choice. Every blender user I work with expected it to work that way, and assumed the feature was either incomplete or bugged when it didn't.
Agreed: when "Affect Only Origins" in ON, the numerical input should, well, affect only the origin! What sense from a user's standpoint could it make that it doesn't?
