UV Annotation
This is something that should be in every UV editor. Basically you can draw on the UV map and even do simple things like freehand lasso fill so you can have some notes on where certain areas are on a UV map making it easier to color. Substance painter is of course often used but so to is photoshop and so on which is not one of those things that works like substance you will have a lot of back and forth. I think having a sorta very primitive even windows paint feature on UV map editors would do great for making UV editing faster. I for instance in some cases use Krita which is nice and all but if you say trying to do over stylized for something and you want to know where a crevice is on a basically grid shaped UV map it is very hard to do with out a lot of editing, exporting repeat or adding a curve there to notice later. If you had something as simple as free lasso fill with a color wheel, and a pencil tool with the same options for color coding it would make life a lot easier. Substance is good for finalized texture making or even complex realistic ones but if you just wanting to knock out stylized textures it is easier to just open up something like photoshop or Krita and do a quick test run or a finalized texture run.
Side note I know you can do what is shown in the picture but it is different than exporting it to the actual size with notes. The way this would have to be done is a lot of scaling, overlapping, comparing etc to get it right.
(maybe you can do this with grease pencil already and I am missing how to do it or grease pencil can implemented this way if not. We have a tool that basically can do it already just have it work in UV editing with export options.)
