UV Mapping modifier

At the moment, we have UV Projection and UV Warp modifiers.

These are useful, but by far not as much as a UV Mapping modifier would give, put at a certain point in the modifiers stack.

At the moment, you can only define the UV mapping for the initial mesh. This is extremely limiting, as when you use some modifier, the topology changes, and the old UV set becomes messy and useless.

The only solution that I know to this is to convert to mesh and then map the UVs. So why not make it as a modifier? Just make implement a modifier that converts to mesh and adds a UV set at that point. Ye I know it's not as easy as I make it sound XD

Having a UV Mapping modifier similar to 3ds max would be so helpful for archviz artists as we mostly work on simple geometry but we modify them a lot so existing solutions in blender are time consuming.

Why just don't use another uv channel for such purpose?

Because you do not understand what author meant by UV Map modifier , I guess. I give 100% author meant 3D Max like modifier , another poor soul sicking for solution.

Blender has no similar functionality and it sucks for a lot ... but I don't think voting here anything will bring us such feature - todays RCS has almost zero impact on development.

Also, being able to export/import uvs, that would be a fricking game changer.
