Asset Browser online libraries

The Blender asset browser is useless if you don't have any assets. And creating your own library as a single user is a task of a lifetime...

Blender asset browser should be able to connect to online libraries. Be it paid, or not. For example, instead of downloading models/textures from the websites Blendswap, blender market, or poliigon, texturehaven, HDRhaven, etc, you'd be able to browse their content right there in the Blender asset browser and drag them into the scene when you find what you need.

Ideally, all the user would have to do is enter a server path somewhere in the asset browser to get access. If it's paid content, they would be prompted to log in... Then somehow even pay for each model they drag in if they are not free... Perhaps the user could right-click an item to visit its page on the website, pay for it there...

Ideally, Blender should have one officially hosted, huge community made free online library, that is accessible through blender asset browser by default. Call it "Blender Milkshake Cloud" or "Blender Smoothie Cloud" or whatever ;) This would be equivalent to 3D warehouse for Sketchup. Asset browser.PNG

This feature is planned. You need to push blendswap and blendkit to actually use it when it is available.

I agree with you, having an equivalent of blendswap supported by official blender fundation would be fantastic (server managment could even be decentralised with seedbox for cc0 models), but the blender fundation don't seem to like crowdsourcing content creation.

Other than blender smoothies cloud, having access to online via an API / token is a game changer feature that make the asset browser really usefull, a first iteration would be to made blender studio models available in asset browser for those subscribed to blender cloud.

Is it possible to use my assets that are in the cloud like in Google Drive?
