Segment highlight on Curves much as Edge highlighting on Faces when a Point is selected

When you select one point on a face, the Edge is also highlighted with a gradient fading away from the selected point.

This existing behavior would also be a great help when editing CURVES. On a busy screen it can be quite difficult to see which Curve is a point is on.

Also, extending this existing behavior would add some consistency to the Blender UI.
