Tab system inside viewport local windows (optional feature along with the current drop down editor selector)
Hello guys. I would like to propose another feature that can make blender's workflow faster. Recently I have posted a proposal to reintroduce the ribbon header but this feature may not be ideal for most so I want to create a new way that would utilize the small header section in a way that would be less messy.
The idea is to add a new tab system inside the local windows. I believe this feature has a lot of potential. I have also observed that there is a degree of difficulty on situations where you want to switch to another editor via drop down menus. This can be very helpful in switching between different editors in one local window.
I hope we can add some features similar to this thanks.

That is SUPER needed
Kind of duplicate of my old , one of the first, inspired by UE. It's interesting that similar things today gather -1 :) +1 from me.
* @IIIFGIII * Yours is explained a little better, and certainly makes the idea appealing. I think perhaps people are becoming fed-up with UI proposals in 2.8?
I find it very ironic that those who worked with 2.79 would be against UI clutter. 2.79's clutter was mostly useless: clutter can be useful if done correctly.
* @IIIFGIII * I upvoted your post. I am not sure if I should archive this but maybe I will leave it open. It may create a conversation and better proposals.
* @Logan Preshaw * I also forgot to put x button. In my opinion blender's UI is very comfortable. The program still has a lot to go inorder to become independently production ready atleast in the mid category.
The main reason why this is the case is because blender is entirely created in an unconventional way and you can't expect it to work instantly close to the industry standards. The UI features that I am trying to propose are centered towards a better and faster workflow, although visually improving the ui is also good.
We cannot avoid clutters. It will always be a part of this kind of work. What we can atleast do is to minimize or find a better way to organize it.
* @johnpdelacruz26 * Nevermind. No one will implement it. It just for history or in my case for some hobby fun. Lot of stuff even on "Top" 1'st page been here for years and still not implemented.
That's actually pretty neat for quick-switching. I think at this stage changing windows is not so difficult that it warrants extra clutter with a feature like this, but a nice idea nontheless.
It's being considered in Blender: #117954 - Screen Area Editor Tabs - blender - Blender Projects
I think there are too many editors to support changing the drop-down to tabs. Unless you want to dictate what editors go in what tabs, but then you're spending more time managing tabs than actually working.
If you're interested in speed, I would personally just suggest learning the hotkeys to switch editor type.
* @Jason van Gumster * I think I haven't explained it well. Thid feature by no means is replacing the drop down menu. This is just an addition to the local window. Just imagine the possibilities when you combine those two the drop down editor selction and the tab options. There is no need to open all tabs. You can decide how many tabs you want only if necessary.
* @johnpdelacruz26 * Hence my second point about spending more time managing tabs than actually working. For the amount of space the tabs take up and the time hit they represent, I'd rather just stick with hotkeys and the menu.
* @Jason van Gumster * I get your point. Thanks.
* @Jason van Gumster * You are completely wrong in your vision of how can it be implemented, how can it work and how can be used to optimize workspace and work at all.
I work with UE and it have this feature and it was great. Sadly - I can't explain for anyone who haven't enough experience of using such functionality why it's great. It need to have this experience to understand. Closed loop :) ....
