Merge By Distance modifier

Quick description : you know how some generative modifiers such as screw, mirroe and such have a 'MERGE' button ? and you know how there's an option in mesh edit that says "Merge by Distance" , formerly "Remove doubles" ? just add a merge by distance modifier. I'm pretty sure it would not be that hard to do.

Reason: the basic reason for when this is needed is for highly non-destructive workflows. See, what you do in non-destructive workflows is you keep the object with as little editable geometry as possible and add details via modifiers, and you DO NOT APPLY THEM, you keep the stack and edit it as you go, now, the main place where this presents a problem is when you use weighted bevel to round out edges completely ... if you round out a corner, bevel will work fine, but if you try round out 2 adjacent corners, where the distance between them is the same as the bevel radius, you run into a problem : the bevels will intersect in a single edge, where you get non-manifold geometry.

Motivation : I am using blender as my design software of choice ... so .. like CAD many people said it was impossible and I proved them wrong. to be fair, so far the only manufacturing instruments I've implemented in blender have been for a) ASSEMBLY , where I've succesfully assembled an FTC robot prior to building it and b) 3D printing, where it's very easy to use Blender in lieu of "real" CAD because in the end, the object gets converted to mesh before it gets sent to the printer anyway

now, I've just got a CNC and it's gonna be interesting to see how I'll manage use it with blender

* @meutzitzu * Have no ideas dude - I'm not some moderator or administrator, just another user, same as you. Some kind of administrator here is Jason van Gumster, as I understand.

I just sitting here for long time and remember what was already posted. Sometimes I write that it's duplicate with link to previously posted suggestion. Maybe it have sense to not spread votes between different suggestion about same.

Community here already asked for long time for something which will allow to merge duplicates ( sometimes duplicate describe problem from a bit different angle ) but it still not exist.
