2.8 Issue: UVProject Modifier lost a feature

The UVproject Modifier in 2.8 doesn't have the option to mask out an area of a mesh using an image. It had this feature in 2.79 which was very useful. This feature is missing in 2.8. So devs pls bring this back. And also an option to assign a vertex group to the modifier would be great. Pls fix this soon. I can't fix a rig I imported from 2.79 to 2.8 without getting this fixed. And thanks a lot in advance. You devs are just awesome.

Images were only assigned to faces in Blender Interial and it was stupid.

* @Pawel Piotrowski * no, man, I used it as a mask in cycles. So the modifier only affected a specific area. Like assigning a vertex group. It's not stupid.

* @Pawel Piotrowski * did you downvote this???

* @jamesprakashjc * Okay. So UVProject lost option to mask influence, but the way it was done was dummy. Assigning faces to images was stupid, and i bet it wont come back.

Maybe some developer will add vertex group masking. And maybe someday there will be face groups as well.

Right now You have to find workaround eg by using second UV channel with shader/material side masking.

* @Pawel Piotrowski * yeah, actually an option to assign a vertex group would work as well, but here they removed the image option and didn't add the option for vertex group, so my project is stranded now. And by the way, this isn't just a case to add two matarials, I want some specific faces to not use the uv map but use the same material. But thanks, you planted an idea in my head. I'm gonna try it out.
