Color code for each mode

Hi im new to Blender (comming from MAya) first of all i love it sofar, im doing alot of rigging, and one thing that realy confusses me is the 3 modes you have to do stuff in (object, edit ,pose) and once in a while im lost in wihich mode i am. would it be a idear to make a option to make a color code for each mode so its visual in which mode you are. for example a small line of a few pixels around your viewport so object = red, edit = green and pose is bleu. if there is a option like this already i love to hear it!

Good idea! +1

Actually we already have colors for each data types (orange for object and green for mesh).

So it could just take those colors for that, like :

  • Orange = object mode
  • Green = edit mode
  • Cyan = posing mode (since it already have that color when a bone is selected)

But I dont know for the line all around the viewport.. it could be very distracting

Agree that a line around the viewport would be very distracting.
Thinking of other areas of the interface that are less prominent, maybe a good candidate could be the upper workflow labels.

Though the mode you're in is self explanatory from what you can see & do in the viewport. If you can edit bones, mesh components or curves handles, you're in edit mode. If you can move objects arround, it's object mode. Available tools also change accordingly.
