Why eevee don't have that feature for make 360 videos? please, it's a problem to add that?

EternalTrail/eeVR has been supplying that need since 2.9 for me, a very appreciated render option for stereo equirectangular renders even in 4K sizes. Should be included in Blender´s trunk.

Currently in Blender 3.6 thru: github.com/EternalTrail/eeVR/pull/51

Instructions here: github.com/nagadomi/eeVR/commit/4781816c95d6c5f549e5cba916437e40aa823c49

The whole point of Eevee is to give artists an option that prioritizes render speed and performance, at the sacrifice of some realism. 360° video requires huge resolutions to look decent (think 8192x4096), since you need to also render areas the viewer isn't looking at in any given moment. Panoramic video is a prime example of a use case in which one would want to use Eevee to save time, since the resolution requirements alone are already immensely taxing. I really hope this feature gets implemented soon.

Ok thanks bouth for answer i understand ok. What about the topic of this post. I explain my actual problem am visual artist from fine arts am working in a VR piece for a exposition in june i need to render stereo and equirectangular in cycles various secuences. in eevee will be simple in cycles a problem with the time. For now it is only a feature in cycles but for a future will be very good idea to include the possibility in eevee for make 360 images from render to composit after a video am not asking for real time. Am talking for save render time with the speed of eevee. Thanks and greetings !!!

* @alexfreyre.art * From what I understand, it's planned sometime in the future. Also, there's a Google Summer of Code proposal about integrating VR--> devtalk.blender.org/t/the-8-projects-students-and-mentors/7106

* @Josephbburg * nice... So i will stay waiting... If it is planning vr support my need and a lot more will be implemented too!!!

As far as EVEE can bake environment maps, it can do spherical images, but it will not realtime, because it is full tracing technology.

* @ Vyacheslav * nop i am talking about to render images in eevee in equirectangular to make 360 videos as result no in realtime only as another possibility to work. Am making art with 360 videos and the render times in cycles are really longs. Another feature that i need is to bake textures in eevee for games why eevee dont have that yet please please

Vyach

* @alexfreyre.art * Okay, I see. There is no baking in EVEE because there is no point to use it for baking. Baked textures and shadows should be realistic, good quality, so this work is for slow renders. And if you need to bake something flat and simple, use emissive pass or albedo pass only. Evee as realtime render makes too much simplifications, sometimes a lot of artifacts (shadows esp). Sometimes it can`t bake properly HiRes things. And with some things EVEE uses literraly the same code as Cycles: AO, emissive surface, environment bake for example.

The only thing that EVEE can do and Cycles can`t — is ShaderToRGB (NPR). But these shaders so fast and do not need baking. May be in some very rare cases.

Josephbburg

* @ Vyacheslav * I pray for EEVEE baking precisely BECAUSE of shader-to-RGB nodes that I use frequently. If I could light a scene in EEVEE and then render it in Cycles, I could get awesome toon shaders AND Cycles' realistic light behavior!! Right now I have to composite, or bake the light-map in Cycles for use in place of shader-to-rgb node (which isn't a solution for shaders that use multiple shader-to-rgb nodes in succession). I'm a little off topic here, though, so I'll stop.
