more Procedural Textures

I love blenders Procedural Textures and they are useful everywhere in blender. So why not make more?

So here are some Ideas for more Procedural Textures:

  1. fractals

there should be one field with some templates and under it a field with the formula. the field with the formula should be editable to type your own formula. underneath it would be two fields for the scale of the fractal and the power etc. this would be really cool for motion graphics and abstract designs.

  1. fabric

there would be a field for different pattern types. And a field for the scale and the thickness of the weave and it's Rotation
This would be incredible useful for everything related to fabric.

  1. landscape

ANT landscape and clouds textures are really good, but sometimes you need something more accurate. This would be a heightmap generating texture with many fields for erode and other weather based variables. It should have also a procedurale river generator inside and it should be possible to make a flat area based on a vertex group. Another very useful feature would be to generate realistic height based influencemaps for particle Trees and snow textures. This would be really useful for enviremonts especially with the new microdisplacement support.

4.scales this would be a texture generating all kinds of scales (snake, reptile, fish etc). There should be a field to choose different patterntypes and a field for rotation and scale and one for the scale variation and it's seed.
this would be very useful for quickly creating all kinds of animals.

a procedural skin texture would be extremely useful.

This sounds a lot more like 4 proposals bundled into one. It might be better to have a separate proposal for each texture type. And in each proposal, clearly explain the parameters for generating each type of texture. How would those textures be generated (mathematically, that is)? Or would expect some kind of image/vector-based pattern that gets replicated? Including mock-ups of the textures and the interfaces for generating them would be a big help as well.

Also, would you want these textures for Cycles? Blender Internal? Both? Neither?

hm no if each where a separate proposal, then we would get overloads of new ideas, i think in general the feeling is that this area could use some extensions
