Rotate, zoom, pan via touchscreen
I would like to bump this again. The patch mentioned in the thread does work on trackpad. But not screen. So this feature is still on the wishlist for me. Would make using blender on a touchscreen amazing.
The grease pencil features of Blender has evolved and become an amazing tool!
Sadly it is hard to use these reliably on tablets with pens because it is practiocally impossible to rotate the view.
Using a pen you dont use the mouse at the same time and using the keyboard is impractical eacg time you need to rotate the view.
This issue could be solved if it was possible to use the "finger" touch gesture to recognise when you use a finger on the screen and then be able to rotate, zoom etc. by using general touch and pinch gestures.

There is a patch waiting here to add multitouch gesture support on Windows: developer.blender.org/D7660
* @wouterstomp * Amazing. Looks like the perfect solution. Its been a little quiet on the task lately though?
While this seemed (and is for all accounts) a great feature. It seems only to apply to touchpad. Not touchscreen. But with many laptop now featuring touchscreen the need for a keyboard to rotate, pan and zoom is a shame. Sitting with blender in your lap and drawing with grease pencil would be amazing.
I want this feature. Painting/sculpting/grease pencil will be amazing when working on touchscreen laptop.
multitouch gestures would be very handy also in the 3d view.
There is few addons for it. I use Viewport roll. It utilizes fast switch to trackball view and allow to roll.
