Better Knife Tool
knife tool with cutting grid based on face ( like the grid modeler addon ) and ability to set custom angle other than being forced to do 45 degree cuts all the time. would be nice to be able to set a parameter like 25 degrees or 10 degrees for precise cuts.

blender's knife tool kinda sucks.. honestly it should just work with all of the built-in snapping functionality, it's bizarre that you can turn on grid snap, then activate the knife tool, and it doesn't snap. For all the talk of confusing behavior for beginners this one stands out as being really odd to me.
it's unfortunate that the GSOC project to improve the tool was not accepted...
* @testure * Indeed, grid snap is a basic and much needed feature for a cut tool.
* @testure * the actual author of the knife tool recently posted something that suggests he thinks it sucks as well
I would also really love to be able to snap knife cuts to elements outside of the actively edited object.
