Take a break from adding features and focus on performance
'Everything that needs to be said has already been said. But since no one was listening, everything must be said again" - André Gide
I know developers are aware of these issues but I will say it once again. Everybody wants new features but I think core functionality needs to be fixed first
Edit mode is very slow compared to 2.79 Undo is nighmare Import export obj/fbx is slow 1 million quad obj takes minutes to import compared to seconds in "other software" 4k baking and texture painting is my dream only Smart uv project is not so smart High res sculpting is slow Vertical text on N panel items are hard to read Single 16 bit 4k displacement map slows down entire shading viewport Blender becomes unresponsive with large amount of hair particles Try compositing a 4k image Or try adding 2-3 blur nodes on medium size image and you will know how painful it is We cant even do live playback of videos without proxy and compositor feels like it was made to post process images only.
There is more but I think you get the point. I know workaround for fixing most of the issues. Like disabling subdiv in viewport and having it only in render. Display particles as bounding box only but this is still workaround and not solution.
I love blender and respect everybody who is working hard to improve blender and I think we can not improve it by adding features but fixing the core functionality first. Thanks ❤️
I have very high end pc but If any of you think this is hardware issue then let me know your specs so I can upgrade

I think there's only so much that can really be done. I agree, I feel like the software features need more streamlining and performance optimizations, but it can be somewhat forgiven considering we've entered a new era for Blender.
Additionally, this isn't really a proposal, more a management suggestion. Have you had a look at the codebase and seen what can be improved? Intel and Nvidia are working alongside the team, so there are some big guns working on optimization. Whether features need to be stalled to further improve this is questionable though.
If I can extrapolate a little more: Apart from performance improvements, some workflow optimizations would be very welcome. Right now there's a lot of simple tasks in Blender that take a lot of setup: Radial Arrays being a good example. Modo has a button that sets up a radial array in one click.
It seems like paid addons are the only hope we have of streamlined workflows. The modals in things like Hardops and Speedflow are really impressive, having something like that in the main software would reduce so much wasted time.
Right now it feels like it takes 15 clicks and 4 modifiers to do rudimentary tasks in Blender.
This post probably isn't the best fit for this site. Right-Click Select is where we post ideas for Blender... at its very core, it's a place to propose new features . While I appreciate the gist of this post, it's really just saying, "Make it better." That's not specific or actionable enough to be helpful to the Blender development team. The developers are well aware of the performance issues within Blender and are certainly working to improve upon them.
Now, if you know of something specific that developers could do to improve performance in a particular area, I recommend you make a new proposal that highlights that idea.
* @Jason van Gumster * Yeah this exactly. I'm being vague. It's very easy to complain and not be productive. A better fit for this site than complaining about the lack of Radial Array would be proposing a Radial Array modifier be created, for example.
