Bevel Modifier improvement
Currently, the bevel modifier has a clamp overlap option that allows to limit the bevel width if it exceeds the geometry of the mesh. Sometimes, when you work on a model with really small details, that limit turns really low to avoid overlap on those tiny edges. I think it would be great if we could check an option to automatically ignore edges that are too small to be beveled with the chosen width so that we can put bigger bevel width without having bevel overlapping problems on small geometry.
It would be very useful for hard surface modeling, we could simply apply a bevel modifier without having to manually assign edge weight to avoid overlap on small details.

The Bevel Tool and Modifier are essential for modeling and should be as flexible yet reliable as possible for users modeling in Blender. Thanks to the amazing development work of Howard Trickey the Bevel Tool and Modifier is ever evolving to be so. If you were not already aware, there is an active discussion at the Blender Developer's forum where Howard Trickey participates with users in fleshing out ideas for improvements of the Bevel Tool and Modifier. I suggest sharing your excellent idea there:
