Nodes with VSE

Hey,

I'm using Blender for video editing and really liking it. One thing that I have been wondering for a while is why there are only a few modifiers available for strips and adjustment layers. And since I know Blender has a pretty powerful set of nodes, I have been wondering how to utilize those with video editing.

My proposal: Enabling nodes to be used easily with VSE. For example, the Adjustment Layer could have an option to "use nodes", and then the clip could be tweaked inside node editor.

Could that be done by adding two new nodes, input and output from and to strip currently edited? As far as I know, there is no way to add a strip as an input to nodes. Neither there is a way to add node composition as a strip on video sequencer.

Seems like there are already feature requests and conversation around the very same idea:

Have a search on this site - There are a couple of threads discussing ways to use Compositing nodes in VSE.

This Post for example.

Blender 5.0 will introduce a compositor modifier letting you add compositing nodes on video strips:

I've made a proposal for this . If you or anyone else wants to give feedback I'd like to hear it.

I think your proposal is different as you dont want to have it over the whole video but on parts ea effect strips. Although I like the idea and give it a thumbs up, i'd prefer that instead of super fancy GUI, it would be made just a bit more usable, in regards to text (outline, placement, effects).
