Consistent snapping for 3D Cursor Tool

With the 3D Cursor (3dc) TOOL, some Snapping seems to work, and others don't.

EDGE CENTER and VERTEX snapping seem to work fine, but FACE (Center) doesn't seem to work at all.

I get that I could use CURSOR TO SELECTED, but that's like 3 extra steps, when Snapping SHOULD work. Consistency is a virtue.

To me, it’s yet another speed-bump in the parking-lot of speedbumps & papercuts that is Blender’s UI.

Kill the 3D cursor already and work on improving the snapping, units and precision features + Auto workplane (full grid features )

I can see how the 3d cursor is handy, I just want it to work properly.

No, don't waste any effort on that thing. Kill it! Having to actually set-up a pivot point (or whatever we call that thing) is something that was excusable maybe 15 years ago.

I agree that we need this. Alternatively for face center snapping (or even space between objects) you can use vertex and add multiple snap points (A shortcut). It will create a snap target at the geometrical center of those marked points. docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/editors/3dview/controls/snapping.html Image from Gyazo Image from Gyazo This is a very powerfull and flexible feature yet rarely mentioned outside of the manual.

* @Ge Ro * , for a given Face, this is redundant: you could just select the Face, switch to Point mode, and Snap (although you shouldn't have to, that's what snapping is FOR). This is MORE useful when there's NO geometry in the area you want to Snap to, but is bordered by useful mesh elements that can be used to define the Snap point.

The original proposal is just to make 3dC snapping works like it should.
