Push / Pull while sliding along edge

It would be very useful to be able to push and pull 2 edges or vertices away while sliding along an edge.

Right now when sliding two edges or vertices, they can only move in the same direction.

it names constraints...

The proposal should be face/edge/surface constraints.

just grab those points and turn weld on...pres G G and join them by turning on edge snapping.....great idea though

* @arkoprobhogupta23 * I'm not quite sure I'm following you grab two vertices, turn on..auto merge, and join them ... with edge snapping? How does that help slide them to opposite ends along different edges?

Right now I have to enter values to slide them equally every time I want to make this sort of adjustment, it really slows things down ...and if the adjacent edges are not the same distance apart on both sides it's impossible to do it accurately.

Honestly I'm really dissappointed this feature, which seems rather basic and essential for modeling isn't in blender.

* @yogisemail2020 * no need to turn on any snapping...just switch on auto merge vertices and press g g to merge vertex to desired point

* @arkoprobhogupta23 * AH right, you mean just edge slide them separately and join them up. Thing is quite often my intention isn't to just weld them together but to have them spaced out a bit further so it needs a bit more accuracy than just sliding individual vertices to the next one over,

I want to slide them a consistent amount and for that I need to do each one manually and type in an amount. And if the edges are different lengths, they won't even move the same distance. This needs to be included. It takes ages to keep typing in numbers when I just want to scale an edge along the edges.

-- Btw, just as a cool random aside, in that video he isn't welding the vertices, he's showing you how to go from a circular shape into a square one smoothly by having a 12 sided tube merge into a 4 sided square (with 3 support loops each corner) - that's why he's sliding the vertices close to the others (to form the support loops).
