This is so sad.
Alexa, play Despacito. Honestly though, the site's name just is another sign of how badly prepared we were for left click select. I'm not against left click select, BUT: The entire workflow was centered around right click select and within a week the decision and the switch were made. Even the new widgets and toolbar were developed with right click select in mind. If you miss click, you extrude, bevel or do whatever you had selected and the other way around. if you want to use your tool you often select something different instead. That is a big problem that nobody even remotely is trying to take care of. Again, I am not against the idea of left click select, but I think we should introduce it when it improves the workflow, not to save people coming from freaking nautilus a few days of getting used to right click select. The decision was made for beginners, not to improve the software and was completely rushed through.

Industry standards need to be respected. Blender was a complete outlier with right-click select and the benefits evidently did not stack up well to the inconvenience on new users. I am glad they've taken such a forward stance on this: letting users rule every decision can hold a software back even with the best intentions.
Also this may be better suited to papercuts?
It´s just for the newbies. Veterans can still use Right click select.
Do you have an actual feature proposal? One that's specific and actionable?
@Jason van Gumster: wait with introducing left click select until it improves the software. Make the widgets use right click and put the context menu somewhere else, just anything. Think about it: how often do you select something or use a tool, and how often to you smooth shade stuff? Right click opening a context menu feels natural because we know it from different softwares with different workflows but it doesn't fit blender at all.
@paperbenni: Waiting isn't a feature. Be specific about the solutions you're proposing. How would you improve left click select? How would you change activating the context menu ("somewhere else" isn't helpful)?
