massively simplify adding nodes.
Example: adding a math node, current process is:
- shift a
- type math
- connect math node
- search through list of available operations
- change operation to multiply etc
suggested new way
- shift a
- type multiply and choose the math node from a list of all nodes that have a multiply mode.
- math node is created and set to multiply, automatically connects to wire nearest mouse, or between two selected nodes, or if non of the above available, then revert to current behaviour of just dropping it into an empty space.
If there are multiple nodes with a multiply mode, then list those two in the shift a menu so the user can select the appropriate one.

Kinda better imho, you can't mistakenly have your new node connect to the wrong one.
What we really miss is that we can't search math operations in the Add Node menu, while we can from the drag-noodle's search menu.
Perhaps I wasn't clear, I was talking about something different (adding nodes to existing wires from the shift a menu)
Oh right, got it.
Why not just use the wangler addon? Select your two nodes and use CTRL + : + / - *. Or Shift + W to access the mathematical node?
I don't find that very intuitive personally. Shift a everyone knows, and typing multiply makes more sense than "CTRL + : + / - *. Or Shift + W" Plus the node wrangler method always adds the math node to the first output on the selected node, so having shift a automatically place the node on the wire nearest to the mouse would be better (would need a max distance, and if no wire inside that distance, just drop it where the mouse is without connecting).
