The recent files list should show the full path and not just the filename...
Frequently I just name my files '1.blend', '2.blend', etc, within subfolders for my projects... This makes it pretty much impossible to figure out which is which when looking at the recently files.
It would be pretty convenient to just show the full path in the recently files list...

This wouldn't be hard to add but you'll still have to wait months or years for a core developer to get around to doing it. If you tweet it to the right person and hope for luck you could make it happen by next month. Otherwise this is probably possible to adjust via an addon. Consider finding a volunteer developer you can pay a few dollars to scratch this itch for you.
