Adaptive edge decimation and a modifier for curves

Hi developers, I usually do the edge decimation for some edges, when I model something, and few month I just discovered the ability to convert mesh in GP, then I use the Grease Pencil decimation algorithm with adaptive function, that do a great decimation, taking into account also the curvature, than normal option in the mesh edge menu for simplify mesh edges, that has a simple Un-Subdivide feature and this dont care on curvature of the edge. The Grease Pencil decimation feature, can be also useful, for normal curve objects imported via DXF or for the edges mesh with too many vertexes, maybe implemented as modifiers for curves and a new option near the Un Subdivide already implemented on edge menu. The code is ready I'm wondering if is possible this implementation in others places. Below some screen shoot of what I mean.

And here the awesome Grease Pencil Adaptive decimation with slider for iteration.

Thanks and I really hope this can be possible.

Use Limidet Dissolve instead.

Wow thanks, that is very nice, thanks.

It would be nice to add that to the Dissolve modifier. For the non-detructive workflow's sake.

I think Ramer–Douglas–Peucker algorithm used by Grease Pencil objects can be better in some situations than angle-based dissolve algorithm. So I'm upvoting the original idea. And I really want "Adaptive" option for "Resample curve" geometry node.
