SPLIT Preview and Render engine for studios that own AMD video Cards
Hello guys, since working with AMD cards (openCL) inside Blender is still a pain if compared to Nvidia ones, The possibility to choose witch engine used for preview or for render would be very nice.
We compare a pc with 4 Amd cards as you can see from images, with one with 2 Nvidia Titan. While in final render Amd's pc go faster, working with preview is still soooo bad... better and faster use CPU. So until Opencl in preview become usable, can we have the option to split preview/render?
Is so annoying change it manually every time.

seems this would be a trivial script to write if your studio has any tech artists. I'd just make a new 'start render' operator that switches from CPU to GPU before calling the built-in render op.
I don't disagree with your request, just seems unlikely that it will have any traction since it's a stopgap solution for better OpenCL support.
