Random per island functionality for EEVEE

The random per island output for the geometry node in the shader editor would be useful to me but it only works in Cycles.

In order for render engine to let You use it, mesh data have to contain information about separate islands.

afaik Blenders "naturally" does not have this information by structure. Mesh inside object is bunch of polygons, its not divided into submeshes at its data. So it have to be calculated and stored.

Cycles can use Random per island, because it calculates it during BVH building (i guess). EEVEE currently does not build any BVH or similar processing of data, and it "just" renders what it gets.

If You wanna it in EEVEE, store per island in mesh and use it in shader Yourself, eg. using GN nodes and attributes

controversial opinion : I doubt that it would be added "just like that", because In order to EEVEE to have it, all objects would have to have it calculated and stored at all times, lowering performance of Blender for everyone at all times, even for ones that dont even use EEVEE. It can get it, if mesh data would be changed to reflect islands as submeshes or eventually it could cleverly calculate it on demand behind the scenes when material uses that node, but its stupidly easy to add it Yourself as in image above so imo it would be better to develop other things first, that cannot be workarounded with single GN node :p.
