Node Editors: Named Reroute

The Unreal Engine material shader editor has this cool concept called Named Reroutes, where you can plug an output into a special kind of reroute node, then you can create multiple Named Reroute outputs and use those outputs wherever you need without a lot of overlapping noodles, or a huge network of normal reroutes.

GeoNodes-NamedReroute.jpg Very simple example. But it can really help compartmentalize processes in a large node graph.

Under the hood I believe that it's pretty much just a regular reroute, so it's not a variable or anything complicated like that, it's just a front facing tool to let you tidy up your nodes and lay them out in a way that makes them easier to manage. Each reroute also has it's own customizable colour (which is randomized on creation) to help track the flow of your data through the graph.
