Libraries.
A feature where you can save node groups in a library. Scene Objects or Collections as well.
Materials would be included in nodes. Albeit in this scenario, material nodes can be dragged and dropped into a material on an object.
Potentially have a scene tab made by default in which all current nodes, materials are saved in. That way you can drag and drop the nodes, materials, etc into your scene as you wish. I am aware you can assign an already created material. I just think this way would be a bit easier to observe if you will. Say two materials look similar. You can right-click and preview the nodes in a tab beside it. Maybe have the option for it to overlay a window over the current scene some may prefer that instead of a tab.
I am aware that this may be a bit hard to implement but I think the bottom shelf where the sequencer could have a tab for it. Perfect size. You could have a preview size option as well. Large, Medium, Small. You could have the option to set a timer on temporary tabs so you do not have a thousand tabs open that you are ignoring. Just-auto exits them after a certain time. Maybe even right-click clear all temporary tabs.
So the tabs would go sequencer, current scene, and library. This of course would be all customizable as well. Just I think that would be a good default position.
Could greatly reduce redundancy and time.
: Additional really good idea. be grand to add this option :
If you really wanted to go a bit further. You could have a folder tab that you can add whichever folder you choose to it. Which is your obj folder and instead of file, import, obj, you can just drag it into the scene snapping it onto the nearest object under the mouse. Other options include right-click insert and a menu pops up with the options of cursor location, selected object, or scene default. You will of course have the same preview options as material nodes. In this scenario.
This would be a plugin that you can turn on or off, and edit many settings.
Forgive my bad writing just woke up.

Sounds like the asset manager project. Haven't heard about its current dev state in a while but it should come around the time of the everything nodes project.
