Create separate clipping options for x ray in edit mode (easier image referencing and cleaner working environment)

Hello guys. I have recently been practicing modeling a human face what I have observed while using blender is that the wireframes can sometimes look so cluttered that you begin to get your eyes somehow work a little harder.

One crusial thing would be when you are faced with a huge amount of lines and vertexes that it could become too overwhelming.

The best solution I could think for now is a separate clipping options for the wireframes during x ray mode. I have tried using the clipping options in the properties panel but it is not the ideal solution in my opinion.

I hope we can add some remidies similar to this one. Another issue related to this is the wireframe thickness settings is not a available in the theme preference. Maybe I will be posting another request regarding this.

Thanks.

Why not simply pull your reference to the foreground and reduce its opacity? At least with organic modeling, it's very rare to work exclusively in wireframe.
