sequence rendering with progressive frame number

I frequently use step rendering to check animation and estimate the rendering time of a full sequence. Most of the time i use step of 8 or 16 to be able to subdivide it

i was wondering why no software (i know) implement a "subdivisable" sequence mode exemple for a 25 frame sequence with a first step of 8: 1-9-17-25 5-13-21-3-7-11-15-19-23 2-4-6-8-10-12-14-16-18-20-22 This could permit to estimate more precisely the computation time of sequence

When you render from the command line, Blender allows you to render arbitrary frames (or frame sequences) without issue. Have a look at the -f flag.
