Sculpting: Trim/Boolean to reuse and modify
Here are some ideas to improve the sculpting ablities with blender:
-
Trim Tools:
-
More shapes like circle, elipse, rectangle
- While drawing it would be good to define the rotation mainly for elipses and rectangles (uneven shapes) and also the position mybe by holding "space bar" and moving.
- Very nice would be to trim with bezier curves, splines or poylines where you can define curves, corner, beveled corner and straight lines, etc. to trim
-
During trimming it would be nice to define the depth and not cut throug the objects completly.
- Also an offset of for the beginnig would be nice so it would be possible to trim specific regions in between
-
After trimming it would be nice to get the "trimmer" like an object which you can reuse.
- Maybe store them in a separate layer or collection
- Then you could use them like booleans in poly modeling to get differences, intersections, insets, outsets, etc.
- Also you could trim/modify the "trimmer" itself. This will then untrim the specific regions.

Sculpt/Trim with booleans:
- Another good feature would be to use any mesh as a trimming tool within the sculpting mode. Atm. it is possible with a context switch to modeling mode but this is not really performant and brings a lot circumstances. If this is possible direct in sculpting mode it could maybe replace the requests above.
