Blender for iPad

With software like DaVinci Resolve and now Final cut pro, I think it's time the topic of blender on M1 and newer iPads gets brought up again. I think there's huge potential for it and think the topic needs to be talked about more. I do half my work on iPad (procreate) and the other half on PC, doing it all on my iPad would be a dream, and the hardware to do it is there. What do people think?

It might take too much resources from desktop development. But having connected pads and phones work as helper render engines would be nice.

There is a very limited manpower to do limited things with Blender. Adding support for a new platform isn't a trivial task to begin with, and requires maintenance in the long run. Supporting a hardware that doesn't have a mouse and keyboard, would require quite a lot of changes to be done just to have a bare-bones user experience.

To my knowledge, by looking at the official repository and developers' blog, the current developers team isn't big enough to keep up doing more than what it does already: We can see many commits from the community that are "waiting for review" for months - sometimes year - because devs don't have time for it, or are focusing on different areas of Blender at that time.

Now there is nothing preventing the community to make their own tablet device version of Blender, much like the community already makes its own VR Blender. But if you expect this to happen from the BF itself, I reckon there will need to be either a manpower increase in the developers' team (which you can help via the Blender Development Fund ), or sacrificing something else's development.
