Make solid and wireframe mode toggle switches

That way we could have wireframe on top of solid mode In both the viewport buttons and the object edit tab, It's always a pain when I want to shade my model smooth but still want to see the topology

Right now when I go into wireframe mode it's a cluster when you see the back wires and the front at the same time without any colour difference.

I like the way I see the wireframe while texturepainting masking

Yes, having the topology visible in solid mode is very important.

Where would you put this in the 3D View's header? As one of the draw options?

zuorion

@Jason van Gumster: I would put in inside overlay popup as "Always draw Wireframe" and maybe with suboption "draw all lines"

@Pawel Piotrowski: You're referring to 2.8's layout, right? I'm not sure if @beenjohn was. That's why I'd asked.

zuorion

@Jason van Gumster: Yea.

Speaking of that kind of improvement 2.7x is a little pointless, cause there wont be a new pre-2.8 version :p.

jason

@Pawel Piotrowski: Not entirely pointless. Not everyone is following 2.8 development as closely as the rest of us. :)

github.com/BenjaminSauder/Wireframe-on-shaded Take it. But I support the point that blender should have this mode by default, not via some addon.
