auto clipping plane of the viewport camera at import
It would be useful to have an option in the import window to set automatically the far and near clipping planes based on the scale of the object.
The risk of this process would be to not notice the wrong size of the imported object which could be too small or too large, but it would help new users to at least see the imported object when imported.

No. Definitely not. Clipping is and should be based on scene requirements, not the scale of some randomly imported mesh.
I'm very much in favor of a new user having a quality experience, but this is not one of those areas that the program needs to accommodate their inexperience.
The new user needs to learn about scale, why it's important, and scale the mesh accordingly.
I feel like this would actually hurt new users the most 🤔
The way I see it, the best way to not have clipping issues is to learn about it.
If you make an option to not bother about it, a few experienced users will use it once in a blue moon because they would still prefer to set clipping from what they see in the viewport with the whole scene.
Whereas new users will cluelessly enable this option. They will still have issues. They will still not understand why. And still post on forums and bug trackers for nothing. But now there will be more cases of crashes, more unexpected issues, more clueless users, and forum folks will have a harder time helping, and devs have more dirt to deal with.
