Link window zoom levels
One thing I think would be useful would be the ability to link multiple windows zoom levels.
For example, in modelling view, I might split he screen up into a quad 3d views (front ortho, side ortho, top ortho and perspective).
The ability to link zoom levels on the three orthoscopic windows would be useful, whereby if you zoom one window - all others are zoomed to the same level, but the perspective view can still zoom independently.

How would you envision the user locking the views together? Is there a button? Are all views locked by default or just selected views? How do you select them?
A mock-up would really help clear things up on this proposal.
* @Jason van Gumster * Maybe it could be added to the right click menu that pops up when you click on the interface between two windows. Currently you get "split area" and "join area". Perhaps you could also have "lock area" and "unlock area" to bind the two windows together or unbind them.
IMO, a nicer way of locking the camera to view and visa-versa is what's needed. In Maya, all view ports are necessarily cameras-- which is mostly stupid, but it makes this kind of thing doable without too much hassle.
This is probably doable via an addon.
