Mantaflow Outputs Cleanup (Smoke VDB / Noise Tile)
The current list of mantaflow outputs to VDB is quite messy and confusing. It would be great to have an option to export a "final" VDB sequence with a single file for each frame containing multiple (selectable) channels, that can be imported back in to Blender or other DCC's.
In addition to this, when using the Noise option, a "waveletNoiseTile.bin" file gets dumped in my home directory (Linux), which is kind of odd, I would expect this to be in the specified caching folder.
To summarize, there's a few issues right now that make it hard to use and create smoke VDB's:
- Adaptive domain results in cache "jumping" around when loaded as a VDB object due to boundary change
- Scale and origin is incorrect when bringing the data back in as a VDB object
- waveletNoiseTile.bin gets dumped in home directory (Linux)
Things fixed in 2.90 so far:
- Multiple VDB sequences, convoluted file folder structure, why not a single file with multiple channels
- Clean up channel names to conform to Blender's own Principled Volume shader (density, temperature, etc.)

I plussed this post, so that means some moron disliked it.
How on earth can some people dislike a data cleanup request ?
Blender suffers so much from its noobs.
