Correct Anamorphic Bokeh, i.e. Aperture Ratio Setting

"Ratio" setting in "Aperture" section of the Camera settings are not working correctly. For instance, when one enters the ratio of 2 (mainly to match anamorphic desqueezed bokeh), the bokeh is just stretched vertically, just like simple vertical blur does, which means that relatively vertical lines in the image receive less blur compared to relatively horizontal lines.

This is not correct.

Bokeh (blur amount) should be the same in all direction and then stretched vertically. Inside the lens the stretched bokeh is generated by the squeezing lens (front or rear), but it does not constitute to the blur size.

Also real anamorphic bokeh stretches based on distance - meaning that objects in boke closer to the camera and further from the camera should have different stretch ratio.

The first image below is rendered with ratio 1 and the second with ratio 1.7. Flip the images back and forth and you will notice that 'vertical blur' effect.

Would be great if this issue can be resolved in CyclesX, since its much needed when matching the footage. 2014 Development Blog post had images that did this much better. As the same blog post says it has been implemented as a 'Ratio' setting in Camera Settings. OTOY does it correctly and looks and feels like a real thing. Thank you.

You should post this as a bug report.
