need seed value for Random color mode in Workbench (2.8)
I am SUPER loving the new Random color mode for objects in Workbench.
However, the colors are pastels and I often gets objects with colors too similar to each other to tell apart. If I could just click on a button that re-seeds the random algorithm...
Since specific color generally doesn't matter in this mode, I would just continue clicking it if two adjacent parts are too similar until they aren't and don't care if all the other objects randomly change also.

Would be great if we can have this feature!
Had the same thought!
The seed could preferably even be an initial color you choose, from which it would then only randomize hues, keeping the saturation and value constant.
You can use my small scripts, just put them in your "script->startup" folder. Than you can search for the commands. bit.ly/2Wilqug
There are two of them, "random material color" and "random object color". If the color doesn't fit your needs, just run the script again. You could also change the parameters in the python code, to get different saturation.
* @danielpaulus90 * Interesting, I will check it out!
link seems to be dead by now, I've wrote something similar if anyone need random object color: gist.github.com/Andrej730/98480e06d75a7df4a65477906d57cbc6
