Gobo Textures
So if you do not know, a Gobo texture is a type of light that uses a texture. I have seen it been possible with realtime engines (such as Source Filmmaker) and I feel like it would be possible to do with eevee as well.
I would like something that would look similar to the image posted, if that is possible. Thanks for listening to my idea!

Already possible. Just plug an image texture into your light's color input, and use the normal Texture Coordinate. The size of the lamp will affect the blurryness of the projection, 0 being no blur.

* @-L0Lock- * I said for eevee, not cycles, and for 2.8, not 2.79
* @spencerhsinger * AFAIK eevee lamps will support nodes at some point, same way as materials already does. So when it will be the case, there you'll go.
* @-L0Lock- * will it be by the release of 2.8? or post 2.8 like 2.81?
No idea. I hope as soon as possible. Because having incompatible lamps between eevee and cycles is already annoying on itself.
* @-L0Lock- * i completely agree, is there any way to possibly let the devs know? since i bet this is a pretty talked-about feature that tons want
Here is the place. Until now they were mostly on fixing crashing bugs and finishing features they already started.
* @-L0Lock- * Alright, then lets have our fingers crossed then
* @-L0Lock- * seems to only work with spotlight
No, it works also with point light and area. The area needs other texture mappings and small but non-zero size. I get it working with Incoming output from Geometry node.
