"Color space Transform," node / VSE effect

Filmic color transformation is fantastic, and really a great tool, but sometimes I find myself needing to combine filmic renders with sRGB content and it doesn't blend that well. Other times I find myself just wanting to add something white in the compositor and end up with a light grey result.

It would be nice if there was a "Color space Transform," node in the node editor, as well as an accompanying effect in the VSE to allow you two switch the color transformation of certain footage.

As of Blender 4.5 you can set a strip's color space:

And since Blender 4.0 we have a Convert Color Space node for the compositor, and we already could set any input images' color space as well:

color spaces in Blender are broken!

Absolutely. I've been lately working on getting as much of my workflow into Blender as possible for renders and eliminating all the post processing steps I normally do in image editors. There are some image operations which simply work better in sRGB space, like sharpen filters which are waaaaay too harsh and visually offensive to do in scene colour space. I'd love to be able to convert with a node, the render output into sRGB space, then apply the rest of the image manipulation for compositing in that space instead. Sadly doesn't seem to be possible with Blender at the moment.

I also think this would be very useful.
