Allow Reordering of UV Maps
Currently, the only way to change UV map order is by duplicating and deleting, which is silly, unintuitive and seems like a weird workaround. We should be able to reorder UV maps directly, either by drag & drop or with move up/down buttons.
This would make managing UV maps more straightforward.
This idea was marked as a duplicate of Ability to rearrange UV Maps..

I wrote an extension which adds Move Up/Down buttons to the UV Maps panel. You can get it from Gumroad: nodesandnoodles.gumroad.com/l/uvreorder
I have a workflow for this. But my idea is that Blender should integrate this by default. I bet your extension duplicates existing UVs in order before deleting, making it slow on large sets on many objects, Blender could and 100% should make this instant and integrated
You'd lose that bet. Don't be so quick to presume.
Alright you're right. I shouldn't have assumed. But still this should 100% be integrated and done by Blender.
I entirely agree. Users have been asking for this feature for years now and it is still to be implemented. I thought perhaps the devs knew something we didn't and that it would actually be much more difficult to implement than it seemed.
I guess it really is just a matter of all the devs always being fully occupied doing other, much bigger things.

When exporting an asset it also uses the order of the UVs and ignores the active/render checkboxes
Please report that as a bug. It should be addressed per exporter.
Fine, submitted bug report now
