Follow Path Constraint with real units instead of factor

If you're using a Follow Path Constraint, you can use the "Fixed Position" checkbox to position your object on the target curve at a position factor of the length between 0 and 1.

If you decide to extend the length your curve, of course your position at that factor changes.

Also, if you need a specific speed in distance per second, the factor is pretty useless.

An option to use real life measurements would be awesome.

Oh, I totally forgot to write what I ended up doing:

I created an empty that moves in x at the desired speed.
The object to be moved gets a Follow Path constraint set to fixed position.
The Offset Factor of the constraint gets a driver dividing the x of the empty by theUsedPathObject.data.splines[0].calc_length()
