Blur Simplify tool for Sculpt Mode

With 2.8 seeing the introduction of a Simplify tool for Sculpt mode, it would be very nice to see a setting for this tool (or perhaps holding shift, since that's the smooth brush momentary hotkey) that allows you to smoothly step-down dyntopo resolution in the area, similar to the blur tool in Weight Paint mode. As you may know, having an area of high detail directly adjacent to an area of low detail causes problems proportional to the contrast in detail, so having a "step down" brush to alleviate this would be very handy.
