"Edit Selected" option in Action Editor

Currently the only way to edit a specific action is to choose the named action from a drop-down, similar to selecting a material.

I think it would very beneficial for the Action Editor if there was a "Edit Selected," or "Link selected," checkbox, so that it would automatically show the action that is selected in the NLA, similar to how there's an option in the UV editor to link the vertices that are selected in the 3D view to the ones in the UV editor.
